  • Forget-me-nots

    April 15th, 2024

    What’s left at the end of everyday,
    When lonesome
    Does not equate
    But is instead left reeling
    Unto whispers
    Of forgotten dreams
    And absent
    Right-hands
    That otherwise steer with
    Order.

    Obtuse universe,
    Without you here;
    Glimpses and piers,
    I felt inundated without you,
    Every moment
    A forget-me-not
    Plucked to remember the seconds
    Of all that
    I had held
    And had lost
    Without you in my sight.

    We had our coffee.
    I snickered in the corner
    While you were on the phone.
    And you laughed at my financial advice
    While we steered buckets into fruition
    Hoping of all our sacrifices;

    Love stands the test of time.
