Musings: Self-Image

I want you, in all the ways I don’t know how to. A self-image where the reflection pool casts something I want to see. Working at 4am, finally cleaned away all the dust today.

I want you to be happy, healthy, strong.

Not reliant on any sin, vice, or drug that could disassociate the virtue in you.

I want you to look in the mirror; more, if any at all.

Take it as a spot of grass that you don’t know where you’re headed, everyone’s felt that way before.

And some text or phone calls isn’t going to save you.

I want to not be obsolete.

Making money, making money; Ive heard that song and dance and rang a dang dang’d the tune like a recorder. Maybe a clarinet or a sax.

But you played viola and chose to be underrated. All your choices, heavily curated and always wondering.

It’s okay to wonder.

I want you to dance and never stop chasing the music.

I want you to look bright into the future but not let go of the present.

You’re in it, honey.

I want you to not be scared.
