Bird House

Sparrows indifferent

An image cast in escape in refuge

The bird flies

Too high

And accustomed to many

Trips, flies, and delays

Where does the sparrow rest

Homeless yet driven to fly again

Hop to a new branch

Divide and conquer responsibility’s handsaway.

Take care of all of it

And somehow prevail

Over overlords and the chains of domesticity.

There once came this girl and she was shy, noverypretty, and otherwise intolerant. Would not speak on command. But jovial. Slayer of sheather underneath.

And wrecking balls made less destruction than the little girl gone grown now.

Who looked at the sparrow from  leads and reeds and thought paper made the difference.
