Subtle Modesty

I had the big talk with my mother.

She called me on her break.

And we covered business and plans.

Of course, she reiterated her greatest wishes for her children.

What she wished for me.

Simple requests per society, harder for me to pull off.

I told her who I was seeing.

I told her what I’m doing for work.

She was elated and told me she loved me.

So much she didn’t know, and she yipped in glee and shock.

She’s proud of me.
